Childlike Play / Stop taking Everything So Serious

Life is tough and after you have grown up you need to stop being playful, as life is something that needs to be taken seriously. There is not much room for enjoyment and this enjoyment has to be after you have fulfilled your part of being a useful part of society. This is how it has been taught for eons.

When I was growing up I truly dreaded to become a ‘grown up’, as for me this equaled in boring conversations - having to do things you didn’t like just because everyone was doing it, and working in a job that keeps you in a loop of doing the same things over and over, because it earns you the money to buy things that you are taught that you need, but in reality in many cases you would be much happier without.

Things that are very often keeping you from living a life of simplicity, enjoyment and fun, instead of repeating patterns and fulfilling expectations that are put upon you by society and/or your family.

Just like going to school after a certain time, when you have learned all the basic things that you need to learn to get through life, didn’t make much sense to me either. Just because most of the things that you learn in school or later in college are things that you will never need anyways.

In our society there isn’t much space for childlike, innocent play. No space for expressing your own creativity, your own uniqueness and your own innate talents. Everything needs to fit into a box, needs to be labeled and needs some form of conformity to be socially acceptable.

Everyone is put into certain systems that are in place, to become a ‘good’ citizen, everyone is taught to conform and be like everyone else.

To follow the rules, to consume, not to question anything and to just live your life according to the expectations of society. Whatever the expectations and rules of the society may be that you specifically are a part of.

In hindsight, even as a child, there is not much space for childlike play and goofing around. As soon as you are entering the school system, you are expected to take that serious and become an A-student. After that you are expected to strive for a prestigious job that pays you big money. And of course, all of this, you are taught, is utterly serious.

Taking everything serious and controlling all of the steps in our lives is actually seen as something that is very important and it is seen as a trait that you should try to make your own.

The reason why I didn’t want to grow up is simple…

I intuitively knew that by becoming an adult and adapting to the expectations of society, I would lose my ability for childlike play and the ability of seeing the world with the eyes of purity, the eyes of wonderment. Seeing the beauty in everything and the ability to enjoy even the smallest things.

Ever since I had entered the world of seriousness, the world of having to make things work, the world of having to get things done, striving, pushing and making ends meet - the world of having to work hard for your money. In short, the world of being an adult…

Ever since I had lost the sense of childlike play and started taking everything so serious, I had been on the quest of getting that sense of child like wonderment and joy back. That sense of enjoyment, making fun of everything and just being happy for no reason at all…

But only when I started to let go of society’s conditioning, started questioning the system even more, came out of hiding and let go of all the belief systems and gunk that were stored in my cells and my subconscious mind…

Only by facing and thereby letting go of all my fears and all the fear-based systems…

Only by changing from a mind-based existence with all the rules and confinement, into a heart-based life. Letting more and more of my own divine presence and purity in, and integrating it into this body…

Only by doing this I have been finally able to get back into this life of childlike play, a life where everything is pure wonderment, joy and magic. Where beauty and enjoyment are around every corner, where I can feel my own purity and magnificence again and see that in everyone and everything else as well.

I am not saying that you should stop doing the things you are doing, give away everything and run away from your every day life to go meditate in the mountains.

There are and always will be the every day chores and things that have to be done and running away from them certainly doesn’t serve.

But isn’t it time to stop taking everything so damn serious and to start to look at everything with the eyes of an innocent child again?

Isn’t it time to change from a mind-based existence of surviving, into a heart base LIFE of thriving, fulfillment and fun?

Isn’t it time to start to find out what you truly want and then follow your heart’s prompts that will never lead you astray?

Welcoming in the magic that this wonderful planet and all the beautiful beings on it have to offer. Welcoming in the love that you are and welcoming in the Universe to guide you every step of the way.

One is based on the mind, it is all about achieving, showing off, being 'better' than others and looking for abundance outside of you. It feels harsh and it is based on lack. Mainly because there is always something better or newer to have or to achieve.

The other is based on the heart, it comes from inside of you or is based on what is already given freely by the Universe. It feels warm, beautiful and there is nothing to achieve.

So why don't we base our abundance on these heart based values, instead of the mind based ones?

Real abundance starts from the inside, it begins with opening up to your inner abundance. An abundance that is not dependant on outside circumstances. It means opening the heart to the love that you are and that is all around you.

It is the simplicity of enjoying everything that is around you and connecting from the heart  with all the wonderful and diverse dear ones, animals and plants that share this beautiful planet with you.

It means following your intuition and the prompts that your heart (which is the connection to your higher levels and the Universe) give you. It means following your passion and putting your heart in everything you do.

Our expectations are a big obstacle to receive the gifts the Universe has to offer.
So why don't we base our abundance on these heart based values, instead of the mind based ones?

Abundance for so many ist to have a lot of money, driving an expensive car, owning a big mansion, being successfull and generally having all those material things, that are perceived to make you happy.

But what about the abundance of love, abundance of health, abundance of beautiful heartbased relationships (even the beloved of your heart), abundance of nature, abundance of joy and enjoyment?

Can you see and more importantly feel the difference between the two above?

One is based on the mind, it is all about achieving, showing off, being 'better' than others and looking for abundance outside of you. It feels harsh and it is based on lack. Mainly because there is always something better or newer to have or to achieve.

The other is based on the heart, it comes from inside of you or is based on what is already given freely by the universe. It feels warm, beautiful and there is nothing to achieve.
